Judge orders Trump administration to unfreeze existing aid programs
14/2/2025: A US federal judge has ruled that, while the president could order a 90-day review, the administration could not compel USAID staff to stop work or freeze funding for existing programs with contractual obligations. 17/1/2025: Country members of OECD’s Development Assistance Committee (DAC) are allowed to classify costs relating to asylum seekers within their own borders as foreign aid. In 2023 14.6% of all DAC foreign aid was spent on domestic refugee costs, despite calls to limit this offset.

William Ruto calls for action on Africa’s debt burden
