Yemen truce renewed for another two months
2/8/2022: The UN-brokered truce that first came into effect on 2 April has been extended to October, marking the longest period of relative calm in Yemen in more than seven years of conflict. The extension includes a commitment by the Government and Houthi rebels to intensify negotiations to reach an expanded agreement.

Accusation of war crimes for use of landmines in Myanmar
20/7/2022: The Myanmar military is committing war crimes by laying antipersonnel landmines on a massive scale in and around villages in Kayah State, according to Amnesty International. Antipersonnel landmines are inherently indiscriminate and their use is internationally banned.

Biden should not renew arms sales to Saudi Arabia
14/7/2022: Reports suggest that the ban on US sales of offensive weapons to Saudi Arabia will be reviewed during the forthcoming visit of President Biden. Landmines: US moves closer toward global ban
21/6/2022: The Biden administration has stated that the US will destroy stocks of antipersonnel mines except those needed for the Korean peninsular. The policy sets the goal of ultimately joining the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty, also known as the Ottawa Convention.
